I know there is a high demand for Elvis memorabilia, but his old pill bottles…? Come on!
First of all, I don’t understand why anyone would keep his old pill bottles in the first place, but they’re just one of the many items of rare showbiz memorabilia going into a Las Vegas auction.
The bottles will be bid for alongside a store card belonging to Marlon Brando and Marilyn Monroe’s mirror as well as more than 150 other items from the Some Like It Hot actress' final home in Brentwood, California - including furniture, clothing, and rare photographs - will form the centrepiece of the sale.
Her dining room table is expected to fetch $10,000 while a blouse worn by the star has a starting price of $7,000 and her umbrella is valued at $16,000.
Also up for auction is a cache of Elvis' belongings he gave as gifts to his personal physician George Nichopoulos, also known as Dr. Nick. These include jewellery, books, guns - and bottles of The King's prescription drugs, including sedative Benadryl and vitamin replacement pills Vicon-C, priced at $800 each.
The auction is due to take place at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas in June.
