Derek Hough has apparently called his parents in tears this week because he blames himself over Cheryl Cole's illness which she probably picked up during the pair's holiday to Tanzania.
Whilst Derek obviously didn’t give Cheryl malaria himself, he does feel a little guilty as he picked their destination himself and now the dancer - who his mum and dad claim is definitely Cheryl's boyfriend - is turning down all offers of work to stay by Chezza's bedside until she's made a full recovery.
The star is still laid up in hospital and it looks as though she's going to be missing the final leg of live X Factor auditions with - wait for it - Nicole Scherzinger lined up to take her place on the judging panel. Now having seen Nicole showing off at a load of the Grand Prix's this year, I am NOT looking forward to being faced with her on my favourite singing show either!
To be fair though, we don't think Derek should beat himself up too much!
