Whilst we were getting all excited and 'ooh, la la' over the whole idea, it seems that all he's been doing is cooking for the singer and helping to put a bit of meat back on her bones.
One source said; "Derek's been brilliant during her recovery. He's really been hands on, treating her to his home cooking, his signature dish is 'mac 'n' cheese', which has been the favourite in Cheryl's home. Even mum Joan's a fan."
Mac 'n' cheese? Hardly romantic.
