Coheed & Cambria have dismissed their troubled bassist, Michael Todd a month after his armed robbery arrest.
Todd is accused of holding up a pharmacy in Attleboro, Massachusetts prior to a Coheed & Cambria gig on July 10.
Todd allegedly made off with six vials of high-strength painkiller Oxycontin after claiming he had a bomb. He headed to the Comcast Centre by cab to play the gig but was arrested before taking to the stage after officers tacked the vechile.
He was charged with robbery and unlawful possession of prescription drugs and jailed. The bandmates temporarily replaced him for the duration of their tour.
Todd was released from jail on July 25 after posting $25,000 bail - but he has lost his place in the band.
A statement from the group, released on Thursday, reads: "After a lot of though, introspection and discussion, Coheed & Cambria will be continuing our journey without bassist Michael Todd. We have spoken to him and this is a mutual decision between both parties. Michael was a great contributor; our hearts go out to his family and to all those appreciate his talents. We wish him nothing but the very best.
"We'd like to thank Wes Styles for filling in for the lives gigs in teh interim, including the upcoming South America and Mexico shows. A belated thanks to Rob Gill for covering in Boston; and the biggest thank you to all of you for your unwavering support. A new chapter awaits."
Todd previously left the band in 2006 in order to seek treatment for heroin addiction. After a stint in rehab, he returned to the group in 2007.
