Isn't it exciting when Twitter emails you and say’s you have ‘One new follower request’ meaning that you’re total number of followers is something like 135? Well for the world of celebrity, who have thousands of new followers each day, when Twitter wiped their fans. They were NOT happy!
In fact, there was utter celebrity pandemonium yesterday evening when a bug on Twitter wiped everybody’s followers back down to zero. They had been doing something technical to prevent users being forced to follow others, but during the process they managed to remove everyone’s followers!
Here are a few of our favourite Tweets during ‘the blackout, starting with king of barmy, P Diddy, who Tweeted; , “I will use my magical powers to fix this! Never fear @iamdiddy is here! HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY!” Right.
Slightly more sane was Dom Joly: “If all 25,000 of you are hiding in my kitchen I’m going to be really p****d off!” whilst McFly’s Tom Fletcher wrote: “I have no followers...It's the end of the world! I'm alone and miserable again. HELLO...hello...hello (echoes through the empty void).”
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore joked that the “Turkish hacker” was really doing a number on Twitter, whilst Stephen Fry added, “I was sure I had more followers. Must have imagine it.”
