Caro Emerald was targeted by thieves on a trip to London this week (beg09Aug10) - her handbag was stolen as she boozed with her band in a bar.
The jazz star is currently enjoying an astonishing chart run in her native country, where her debut album has been occupying the number one slot since January (10).
She travelled to Britain this week to play two shows in the capital - but her trip was marred by crooks who walked off with her
money, credit cards, and other valuables after stealing her bag.
Emerald tells WENN, "I was in a bar with my band and I was very conscious of keeping my bag close to me.
"I put it on the floor between my legs and kept one eye on it.
"But then after a while we were drinking and having fun and I realised I hadn't checked my bag for about 30 minutes. I looked down and it was gone.
"I couldn't believe it. It's my own fault in some ways I suppose - I think I maybe just had too many beers!"
