On Saturday 26th May 2012, the UK’s most celebrated DJ and music producer Calvin Harris will perform his first gig of the summer season at Newbury Racecourse to launch the sixth annual ‘Party in the Paddock’ series, a unique fusion of world class live music and exhilarating racing.
Dubbed the most well-connected DJ in British pop and having collaborated with some of the biggest names in industry, from Kylie Minogue to Dizzee Rascal and most recently Grammy Award winning Rihanna, Calvin Harris will perform his set of the world’s best loved dance tracks including one of the UKs best selling dance hits of 2011 ‘We Found Love’, as well as summer classics ‘Ready for the Weekend’ and ‘I’m Not Alone’.
Calvin Harris who has just finished touring with global megastar Rihanna says: "This will be the first time I have ever performed at a racecourse and it will be fantastic to be able to perform to a crowd of already adrenaline fuelled racegoers!"
Tickets for the open air gig will go on sale from 9am on Wednesday 29th February. Party-goers can choose from a selection of ticket packages including The Exclusive Hampshire Stand & White Room Package, which gives eager racegoers excellent views of the racing and the stage.
This package also includes access to the Moet & Chandon Champagne Hall, The Wine Cellar, 1905 cocktail bar and the White Room After Party where party-goers can continue in the party spirit after the gig with London based DJs Kingston Rhythm manning the decks.
The ‘Party in the Paddock’ event over the summer is in its sixth successful year and gaining huge popularity from music lovers across the UK, often doubling the number of spectators that would attend a raceday.
The concerts are establishing Newbury Racecourse as a major venue for live music, conferences, business meetings and events, in a campaign to make racing more accessible and encourage a whole new group of racing enthusiasts.
