Rhymes Charged With Driving Offences.... Rapper Busta Rhymes was arrested yesterday (22Feb07) morning for allegedly driving while suspended in the Tribeca district of New York City, adding to his legal woes.Cops claim they initially pulled over Rhymes - real name Trevor Smith - after he drove through a red light.The hip-hop star was later charged with driving under a suspended licence and aggravated driving.Just two days earlier (20Feb07), Rhymes rejected a prosecutor's offer of six months in jail on two assault charges in Manhattan Criminal Court.In that case, Rhymes is accused of beating Edward Hatchett, his former driver, during a dispute over back pay outside his New York office building on 26 December (06).Judge Tanya Kennedy told the rapper he could plead guilty to third-degree assault and receive a conditional discharge.Meanwhile, in another case, Rhymes is charged with assaulting a fan for allegedly spitting on his car after a 12 August (06) performance on New York City's Randalls Island.Assistant District Attorney Harrison Schweiloch had offered Rhymes six months in jail to cover both assaults, along with orders of protection for the victims, which Rhymes rejected.
