Bret Michaels is halving the price of his tickets
Bret Michaels is offering fans discounted tickets to his show on Friday in return for gig-goers donating food to distribute among the poor.
The star has made an online appeal for edible donations at his concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and he's prepared to reward his most generous followers with access to his performance for half the advertised price of $30 (£18.75).
In a post on his Twitter page, he writes: "Bring a canned, non-perishable food item to the show on Dec. 16, 2011 (at) STAGE AE in Pittsburgh, PA and get a $15 General Admission ticket!"
Cyndi Lauper recently staged a similar appeal, asking fans to bring food for the homeless to her show in New York.
