Bob Dylan’s celebrity obviously hasn't reached certain parts of New Jersey after he was treated like an unknown by police in Long Branch last month.
Details just emerging suggest a concerned resident phoned the police to report a mysterious stranger in the neighbourhood - and the authorities decided to check him out.
Dylan, who was in town preparing for a concert on 23 July in nearby Lakewood, was apprehended by police, who asked the folk-rock legend for identification.
The singer/songwriter wasn’t carrying any, so police took him back to his hotel, where tour staff vouched for him and no charges were filed, according to U.S. news show Access Hollywood.
