Black Eyed Peas win copyright battle

The Black Eyed Peas have won a long standing legal battle over their track Boom Boom Pow.

The band was issued with a law suit last year from Phoenix Phenom, who alleged the 2009 track used parts of her song Boom Dynamite, which she claimes to have submitted to the Black Eyed Pea's Interscope Records label.

Phenom, real name Ebony Latrice Batts, and her associate filed the suit, accusing the group of copyright infringement, and the case went to court last week.

US District Judge ruled in favour of the band and issued a summary last week, insisting a jury would struggle to find any 'substantial similarities of ideas and expression', according AllHipHop.com.
