Ditto To Pay Back Debt With Song Dedication....

Gossip singer Beth Ditto is to re-pay a long-standing debt to a friend who kick-started the band's career with her credit card.Lesbian rocker Ditto is to pen a song dedicated to generous pal Kathy Mendonca who paid for her and guitarist Brace Paine - real name Nathan Howdeshell - to leave the Arkansas trailer park where they grew up and move to the Washington college where the band was formed in 2001.Mendonca was the band's original drummer but left before they recorded the album that propelled them to fame, Standing In The Way Of Control.Ditto explains, "When you are college age, credit card companies bombard you with applications - so Kathy applied and got one. She paid for Nathan to move to Olympia with her and, when I graduated from high school a couple of years later, she paid for me to come out there too."To show her gratitude Ditto says, "On the next record I am going to write a song called Kathy's Credit Card.".
