BERRY GORDY who founded Motown is planning to invest $100 million (£62.5 million) into a musical based on his life.
A quote from Perezhilton.com stated "that they only reason why he's doing this is to paint himself and some of the controversy that's happened in his life over the years in a different light."
A source tells the New York Post Gordy will also waive the rights to the Motown back catalogue, which he owns, for the ambitious production.
The insider says, "Berry's been wanting to do this for a long time. He's got the money and investors lined up, he's trying to involve Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson. This is his chance to set the record straight."
There's no timetable for the production yet, but, we do know that Gordy has wanted to do this for a long time, and everything is moving forward in that direction, and he really wants to set the record straight. It'll be set with the backdrop of the 1960's civil rights movement.
