The Beach Boys are obviously a bit strapped for cash at the moment and have decided to have a go at forcing Katy Perry to acknowledge them with song-writing credits and royalties for her hit California Gurls.
Apparently, the 1960's band (was Katy even alive then? Err, no.) are accusing KP of borrowing from their own hit California Girls in both its title and its musical content. "Katy has cribbed one of the most famous lyrics in history, so [The Beach Boys] should be entitled to a writing credit and a portion of the royalties."
Does anyone else think they should just back off?
