Aretha Franklin proved she was in good health on Friday when she attended a basketball game in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan - her first public appearance since undergoing surgery for a mystery illness in December.
The Queen of Soul worried fans when she scrapped a series of end-of-year shows in 2010 to recover from sickness. She has refused to reveal the nature of her ailment, but recently dismissed reports she has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
But the 68 year old showed devotees she was bouncing back from her health crisis by waving to fans as she cheered on the Detroit Pistons as they took on the Miami Heat on Friday.
Franklin's day out follows the news of her stage comeback - the legendary star announced last week she will return to the spotlight for a still-to-be-announced tribute show in May.
