Arctc Monkeys Turner : 'Singing On Stage Was Worst Nightmare'.... Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner used to mimic the cocky stage presence of rocker Liam Gallagher - because he was scared of performing in front of a live audience. The young singer was frightened of the band's leap to fame following the release of their hit single I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor in late 2005 so would put on "a front" for fans.He says, "When we were first playing, I'd have little things to say in between songs and I would start telling a story. But that was probably a front."It didn't seem frightening at the time but looking back it was a bit unnerving."Back then you just thought 'come on' and walked up to collect an award like you were Liam Gallagher or something."The Arctic Monkey's frontman has reportedly ensured his ex-girlfriend is financially secure for life, after he included her name in one of the band's song credits.Turner, 21, split from student Johanna Bennet in January (07) after two years together. But the singer is alleged to have credited his former lover on the rockers' next single Fluorescent Adolescent, which she helped to write, making sure she gets a cut of the profits from what has already been tipped as a big chart hit.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "Johanna and Alex are still close friends. They might not be going out with each other any longer, but there's still a great deal of affection between the couple.
"Fluorescent Adolescent is likely to be a monster hit when it's released this summer and Johanna can expect to make a pretty penny from her contribution to the writing.
"She's likely to be receiving royalties from the record for the rest of her life, which could add up to a significant amount."
