Annie Lennox is heading to Parliament to speak about tackling the global HIV epidemic as part of World Aids Day on Thursday.
The former Eurythmics star is a leading campaigner for women's rights and Aids prevention, and has bee invited by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK. Branch to speak to the Houses of Parliament for a conference on international development.
She will use her knowledge as a UN Aids Ambassador to call for greater action from governments around the world to try and reduce the number of people infected with the deadly disease.
On her website, Lennox posted a statement: "I'm absolutely delighted to be addressing politicians at this conference. As a special envoy... with regard to the issue of HIV AIDS, I have been striving to contribute to the long standing Scottish tradition of standing up for human rights and justice, with special regard to women and children in the developing world. This conference offers the opportunity to promote this cause to a wider range of decision makers."
