Amy Winehouse’s father has said that a biopic portraying his daughter’s life is out of the question.

Mitch Winehouse told the Daily Mail yesterday that he would “never allow the songs to be released,” and that “It would hardly be a biopic without the music.”

Copyrights to the late singer’s music are currently owned by Mitch Winehouse, who released the posthumous album, ‘Lioness:  Hidden Treasures', on 5 December.

The statement has been made just a few weeks after movie director and Amy’s boyfriend of two years, Reg Traviss, announced that he has had requests to make a film. Speaking to The Mirror, he said: “I guess a biopic is inevitable…I have been asked but I honestly don’t think I could do it. I’d be too close to it.”

It looks uncertain as to whether or not a film is going to be made then, however Amy’s dad has said that there will be a book about his daughter’s life. According to The Mail, Mitch Winehouse “plans to write a book which will be a memoir…” and “A deal has been signed with publisher HarperCollins”.

All proceeds from the publication will go to The Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was set up in November.
