Amy MacDonalds' This is The Life grabs the number one spot from Radiohead. Meanwhile dance DJ Basshunter took top spot in the UK singles charts with the house track, Now You're Gone, which debuted last week at number 14, Britney Spears grabbed second place with her new single, Piece of Me, and Soulja Boy's Crank That fell one place to number three. Nickelback's Rockstar was at number four and last week's number one, Leon Jackson's When You Believe was at five. Lupe Fiasco's new release in the top 20 singles chart this week, and that went straight in at number seven. Oystar's single, I Fought The Lloyds, debuted at number 25, with a song about what happened when Dan Oystar tried to get his bank charges back which was money that had been unlawfully removed from his account by Lloyds TSB. In a quiet week for album releases, Tom Baxter's Skybound was the only new entry within the top 40 at number 20. Take That's Beautiful World is still in the top three after being re-released in November and the band's single Rule The World continues to hang about in the singles chart, this week at ninth place.
The self-titled album by Scouting for Girls jumped from number 12 last week to number four this week, followed by Mika's Life in Cartoon Motion.
Albums by Robert Plant, Newton Faulkner, Amy Winehouse, Michael Buble and Leona Lewis all reached positions within the top 10.
