50 Cent has been ordered by a New York judge to hand in any guns he pocesses following the issue of a restraining order involving his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins. The order bars the performer, real name Curtis Jackson, from contacting the mother of Mr Jackson's 10-year-old son without the court's permission. Jackson's lawyer, Brett Kimmel, said he would contest the order. "To my knowledge, he has no guns," he said. Ms Tompkins has been involved legal row with Jackson over money, claiming she is entitled to half of his estate, based on a verbal agreement. Last month a fire destroyed the rapper's home in Long Island, where Ms Tompkins lived with their son with police saying they were treating the fire as suspicious. Jackson has denied any involvement in the event.Separately on Friday, Jackson filed a $20m (£10m) defamation lawsuit against Ms Tomkins for statements she made to the media. This completely baseless and it's retaliatory say Ms Tompkins' lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, said of the defamation action, which was filed in Jackson's home state of Connecticut, labeling it nothing more than an attempt to rehabilitate his image.
