The 1975 and Jake Bugg are "excited" to join BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend Exeter 2016 line-up.
The two acts will perform at the music extravaganza in Exeter show, in Devon, England, held on May 28 and 29.
They dropped into Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 Breakfast Show to make the announcement.
They will be joined by Coldplay, Ellie Goulding, Chase and Status and Bring Me The Horizon who will make their Big Weekend Performance debut.
The 1975 - comprised of Matt Healy, Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann and George Daniel - have just released their second album 'I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It'.
Speaking about their Big Weekend appearance, The 1975 said: "We're really excited to be playing in Exeter for Radio 1's Big Weekend. We loved playing Derry/Londonderry and Glasgow and are really pleased to be heading back for a third time."
Coldplay's Chris Martin can't wait to play at the event because Exeter is his hometown.
Speaking about playing Big Weekend, Chris said: "I lived the first few years of my life less than 500 yards from where we'll be performing so this couldn't be more of a homecoming for me.
"We are honoured to be on the bill and we're looking forward to a very special show."
Ticket details for the event held at Exeter's Powderham Castle will be revealed on March 21.
