For those who may be new to your music, how best would you describe your sound?

I think we’d describe it as alt-pop with some nods to RnB, soul and electronica.

What challenges have you faced in the music industry so far? How difficult would you say this career path is in terms of making a name for yourself?

There are so many bands out there, and it’s tough trying to carve out a niche. You have to believe fully in the music and just go for it. But it’s absolutely amazing when you play a great gig and meet new people who really enjoy the tunes. Tour life certainly has its challenges; like playing with a hangover and sleeping on the floor of a tiny room!

How important is it for you to have creative control over the work you produce?

So important. Our music is so personal; us spilling out our guts and trying to tell stories. We write, produce and mix everything we do so [we] have control the whole way. We do send it out for mastering; I think you can get a bit blinkered, so it’s cool to hand it over for that final polish!

Where do you draw influence and inspiration from for your work?

Everyday scenarios, events and our environment are where we draw a lot of inspiration from. Things that we’ve been through that we can embellish and work into song form. We also love to look at film scores and instrumentals, especially when loads of synths are used such as Drive, or the original Blade Runner film.

If you could collaborate with anybody going forward, who would you choose and why?

I mean, Laura would say Stevie Nicks; long time idol! But other than that… Kid Cupid featuring Kid Cudi has a ring to it, no? Of late, we’ve all been big fans of NAO; her voice, production and songs are amazing.

Tell us a random, funny fact about you that not many people know.

James has a third nipple. Apparently, Harry Styles is in the same club. All the greats!

Do you have definitive aims or goals for your career?

To headline Glastonbury, why not?

Where do you hope to be by this time next year?

We would love to be working on a debut EP, having just got back from playing lots of festivals!

What should we expect from you in the coming weeks and months?

Our new single ‘Easy’ has just dropped, and we’re so, so happy to get it out there. We’re shooting a music video as well as playing some more low key acoustic sessions before we head back out on the road for lots more gigs!
