Harlea is without a doubt one of the most exciting new artists of 2018. Recently releasing her new single Beautiful Mess via Roxy Princess Records, we caught up with the artist to find out a little bit more about her, where she hopes to be in a year's time, and more. We get to know Harlea a little better!
For those who may be new to your music, how best would you describe your sound?
I’d say its a modern day throwback kinda vibe.
What challenges have you faced in the music industry so far?
Getting writers and producers to understand the sound that I am going for. Its a tricky business.
How difficult would you say this career path is in terms of making a name for yourself?
Very. You are a drop in the ocean. There is so much talent out there its crazy! It is exceptionally hard in the alternative world as well, especially being female.
How important is it for you to have creative control over the work you produce?
Very important but sadly not always an option.
Where do you draw influence and inspiration from for your work?
From everywhere! I am very observant and with the travel I do it opens my eyes more.
Tell us a random, funny fact about you that not many people know.
I played a chicken in a school play when I was younger and had to lay a gold egg on stage… my parents were so proud.
Do you have definitive aims or goals for your career?
Releasing my first album!
Where do you hope to be this time next year?
Continuing making music with an album out!
What should we expect from you in the coming weeks and months?
I am going to do some shows and hopefully get another single or two out!
