Emii

When was it that you realised you wanted to be a singer?

As far back as I can remember. Actually, even before that. When I was a toddler I would frequently run up on stages that weren't meant for me and randomly start singing.

What are some of your favourite things about music?

Music is so powerful. It can make you feel like you're on top of the world, lull you to sleep, or everything in between. It can range from creative expression to plain-and-simple fun. There is something for everyone.

What do you hope to inspire through your music?

I want to inspire people to be better for themselves and the world around them. To find happiness and continue to strive for the lives they deserve.

How have friends and family responded to your choice to go down this career path?

It was definitely more difficult in the beginning. I'm sure any parent would be nervous watching their teenage daughter jump on a bus to New York with dreams of a music career. It's not an easy industry to break into, but thankfully everyone is very supportive now.

You enjoy science fiction and comic books - what are some of your favourites?

Star Trek, Star Wars, almost anything Marvel, Batman (DC), the new Superman was killer, and I loved Ender's Game! I grew up on that book.

Where do you hope to be this time next year?

In the studio prepping for another release and tour, or on set filming!

Are you involved in any projects right now you can share some details about?

I am putting the final touches on a song I just wrote with Dianna Parro. It's one of the most powerful songs I've ever done, and it's been an amazing experience collaborating with Dianna on such a meaningful song. Every single word pulls on my heart strings. I can't wait for everyone to hear it!

Emii is back in the studio and promises new music soon.
