All About She

For those who may not have heard your music before, how best would you describe All About She as a collective?

James: Soulful future garage.

When did you realise that music was the path you wanted to take career-wise?

James: When you realise you can commit so much time to something without any financial reward and still enjoy it.
Vanya: When you can't think of anything else that you want to do.
Jon: it's all I've done since as far as I can remember so it's all I ever wanted to do.

What is it about music that you love?

James: The emotional connection to music and now the feeling that we can give to our listeners.
Vanya: The amount of variations and interpretations of music is always inspiring.
Jon: music is always a pick up in life. No matter what your feeling music can always eclipse that.

Your single 'Higher' did well here in 2013, how did you feel when you got such a positive response?

Jon: We were overwhelmed especially at such a competitive time of the year. We really loved the song and to know other people loved it as much as we did was a great feeling.

Your debut EP 'Go Slow' is now out, what should we expect from that?

Vanya: A combination of influential genres that organically manifested in the creative process.
James: We had a lot of fun making it and experimenting with different sounds. It's a very exciting EP and we're proud of it!

Why did you decide to release this EP as a free download?

Jon: We wanted to give our supporters something back for supporting 'Higher'. Also to demonstrate a different dimension of our sound and get it to as many people as we could.

How do you all work together creatively - is there one person who takes the reigns or do you all make equal contribution?

Vanya: Depending on the day, the beat may come first or the vocals/lyrics. On other day we will just vibe together and the song will materialise organically and we like it that way.

What are the feelings going into playing this year's Wireless Festival?

Jon: Nervous and excited but really looking forward to playing live
James: we want the audience to feel comfortable and vibe out with us. The same way they would if they were with they're friends at home.

What should we expect from you in the coming months?

Vanya: A combination of influential genres that organically manifested in the creative process.
James: We had a lot of fun making it and experimenting with different sounds. It's a very exciting EP and we're proud of it!

Are there any other projects you're currently involved with that you can share some details about?

Vanya: We've been doing some really exciting stuff with Tinie Tempah and Sasha Keable.
Jon: We've also been working with an up and coming talent, Taet. She's amazing!

All About She will be playing at this year's Lovebox. Their new EP 'Go Slow' is available now for free download at https://allaboutshe.bandcamp.com/, released through Disturbing London - co-owned by Tinie Tempah and Dumi Oburota.
