Encompassing influences from folk music to country and acoustic soul, Sam Lewis penned ‘Everything You Are’ on the road.. In airport lounges, hotel lobbies, tour buses, dressing rooms, you name it.. All whilst he was suppose dot be focusing on his ‘day job’ as guitarist in KT Tunstall’s band.

Things are good Thank you.
We are proper 100% loving your super hot new record…tell us a bit about the inspiration behind it
The record Was made in a bedroom for no money at all. The songs I wrote on tour busses and hotels of which there have been many over the last few years of touring. I was very inspired by the American landscape . American music filled my homesick heart and inspired me to start writing.
To anyone who hasn’t heard of you yet, how would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as roots . Honest and heart felt.
If you were going to give us just one song of yours to listen to so that you would become our new favourite singer, what would it be?
Another Lifetime
If you could cover another band’s song, what would it be?
Pump It Up by Elvis Costello

A very good live band.
What makes you stand out from the crowd?
My dad plays in my band
You know we’re having a bit of an economic crisis here at the moment, if people wanted to spend their last £10 on a cd this weekend, why should they buy yours?
Because when you hear songs that come from a real place you can identify with them and you feel as if you`re not alone in this big scary world.
What three bands would you have to headline your dream festival?
Bob Marley , Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin,. I think that should do it.
What has been your favourite musical memory to date?
Playing the Ryman in Nashville .
If all of the bands equipment was on fire, what one piece would you save and why?
My white guitar that cost £100 . Because I couldn`t find another one.
Who do you think is the greatest artist around at the moment?
Tom Waits
If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That`s a tough one. Astral Weeks by van Morrison because it sounds different every time I listen to it.
Okay, now we want to ask you some random questions; Tell me about the most terrifying experience of your life…
I was in Kenya recently and I came face to face with a Hippo. Hippos kill more people than Lions.
What’s the most stupid purchase you’ve ever made?
I bought the most disgusting vintage trousers to go to a 1940`s party I looked like Benny Hill.
Why go to the top of a tall building, only to put money in binoculars and look at things on the ground?
Because from above you have a different perspective on the world and that`s always good.
