Everyone’s favourite little rock star Lil Chris is back and promoting a hot new game for Disney Interactive Studios: barely of a legal age, I thought it was time to pin him down and ask the questions we all want answering.
Hello there pretty, how are things going in your lovely world?
Well I have been doing various gig’s and promotion around the country and I’m just doing random presenting and things!
I love it… So tell me a little bit about your TV show, Everybody Loves Chris…
Well basically it’s a T4 show and we have live music on the stage, we have a big airstream and we just travel around and have different bands on. We’ve had McFly, The Saturdays and The Feeling. We also interview people like Pink and The Hoosiers and Jack Osbourne and loads of really cool people.
Who has been your favourite interview?
Probably Pink just because she’s so huge. Ne-Yo was quite good as well though, I really enjoyed having him on. We also do random stuff like busking where we raised money for endangered animals and things like that!
That’s amazing, I want to get involved! You’re also working with Disney Interactive Studios promoting their new game, if you could be any video game character, who would you be?
I’d be Marcus Phoenix [FF: Who’s that?] he’s the main character from Gears Of War, but on Ultimate Band you can actually be yourself in it, so I think I’d go for that!
Now this new game, Ultimate Band, for anyone who hasn’t had to joy of playing it, what exactly can we expect?
It’s your basic music performance game and it’s on the Wii and Nintendo DS and basically you have various songs on there from people like Blur, Incubus, Maroon 5 and My Chemical Romance. It’s quite a lot different to any other music platform games because you just use the Wii controller to do them all so you don’t have to buy extra things just to play the games… there’s no spending £100 on a drum kit!
Talking of music, are you going to be releasing any tunes soon?
Well I would love to, I’ve got a song that I’d like to release this summer called The Great British Summer and it was on my latest album, What’s It All About. I’d love to see how it went over summer and have a laugh with it at festivals and stuff, but we’ll see how things go.
Yay! And talking of festivals, what three bands would you have headlining your dream festival?
I would like Rage Against The Machine and I’d say System Of A Down but I head they are quite rubbish live so I don’t want them to disappoint everyone so I’d probably swap them for Iron Maiden and then I’d have Kanye West because he puts on a good show.
So who do you think is the greatest musician around at the moment?
Ooh, I don’t know! The really good ones don’t need any more smoke blowing up their asses so I want to choose someone secret! I do like Kings Of Leon at the moment though.
That’s a good answer, we like them too… and if you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would blatantly be one of those massive compilation CD’s, like the ones that get advertised on TV with a couple of people on a couch talking about it for 15 minutes on ITV2 or something…. They have like 500+ songs on!
Okay, now we want to ask you some random questions; On an airplane you are talking pleasantly to a person of average appearance. Unexpectedly, the person offers you $10, 000 (£5, 000) for one night of sex. Knowing there is no danger and that payment is certain, would you accept the offer?
Are they male or female? [FF: Female] Hell Yes! Would you?
Yes of course I would, I’ll do anything for money at the moment! So, secondly, name an experience which features an animal that you will never forget.
An animal… how random… I bet there are so many ridiculously good ones but I can’t think… hmm, when I was about 10 years old, me and my friend Colin went fishing in his sisters fish tank and we got them all out and they all died of stress!
Chris no! that’s awful!
We were only like eight! We were just going in their tank and they were dead scared and jumping around. That’s quite bad actually isn’t it? Maybe I should choose a better one? The headline will be Chris The Mass Fish Murderer!
Okay, I have a different one, me and my sister used to do a little circus with my cat when I was younger and make him jump through hoops and stuff!
Finally, what one thing did you always want as a child but never got?
Let me think… it’s all flooding back to me now. I always wanted to collect the sticker books, the Premier League ones but mum would never let me do them because she said it was a waste of money [FF: So did my mum!] I make up for it now though and buy them for my little brother because he’s eight and he get’s these Shot out things so I buy him shit loads of stickers because ei know how much I loved them when I was little.
I’m so jealous, buy me some, I can’t even afford to pay my gas bill! We also ask everyone we interview to come up with a question for the next person we interview and Jacks Mannequin wants to know; “Have you ever had an In-And-Out burger?”
What? [FF: That’s what we said] Obviously not!
