Dangerous!

Dangerous!

Australian rockers Dangerous! chatted to us backstage before supporting Young Guns in Manchester.

We spoke about the tour and their new single 'Movers N' Shakers'.

-How's the reaction been to Movers N' Shakers?
That's always been a favourite. All this tour, kids have been singing along to it. I'd say it's been a pretty good reaction.

It's an old song, it was one of our favourites off the demos for the album. It's one of the first songs we wrote as this band. It's good to get it out there, plus we want to move on.

-How's it been having people singing along, even though you're one of the support acts?
It's wicked. I don't know, stuff catches on quickly. It's a catchy song, so usually they know the chorus.

-How was it shooting the video for the single?
It was fun, man, we shot it ourselves in our hometown. It was at our friend's house. We left it how it was, a bong in the corner. Smashed that in one night, edited it the next day - it was done in 24 hours.

-You mentioned doing the video yourselves. Do you enjoy doing that?
Yeah. When we let other people do other things, we look like f***wits. So yeah, we do things ourselves.

-Are you excited for the album release?
Yeah, it's been a long time coming. We recorded it last year, so we're well and truly ready for it.

-Has it been hard sitting on the songs for so long?
Kind of, but we're touring them properly now. I'm still having fun playing them. We've had time to get our live performance really up to scratch. We're still getting used to playing though, it's not perfect.

-What can fans expect from your live shows, perhaps as a support act?
They can expect to have as much fun as we do, and we have a lot of fun.

-How's it been so far supporting Young Guns?
It's been f****** great, they've got great fans! It's the best tour we've done. It's been a wicked eyeopener to what we potentially could be.

We were in the UK a couple of months ago and did Download, Sonisphere, things like that, and then we did tiny club shows wherever we could. Now we're doing a proper tour and it's f****** awesome. The venues are big and sold out, it's cool.

-What's the atmosphere like on the tour? Are there any egos?
No, it's been the best. Young Guns said they got us on this tour cos we're like them. Everyone gets on really well.

-How are you preparing for your co-headline tour at the moment?
We're not, really. We like to be spontaneous. It's the same deal as every other show. Just be there on time, and play.

-Looking forward to getting out there in front of your own fans, rather than someone else's on this tour?
Well, hopefully there'll be some fans there. That'd be great! The same deal as this tour, rock up and see what happens.

-What do you have planned after these shows?
We've got this co-headline tour. We found out about coming to the UK a week before it happened. We don't really complain. We could be doing a Metallica tour, you never know!
