I first saw 3OH!3 on one of those Sky music channels when I was at my friends house, now I don’t have Sky, so watching music videos is something I rarely do, but when I saw these two barmy characters rocking out on screen it was love at first sight. I caught up with the boys to find out what’s happening with them.
You brought out your new album last month, tell us a bit about that..
Nat: The album was recorded in April 2008
Sean: We recorded it with our produces Matt Squire who is a talented young man, it’s a mix of a lot of different stuff that we are influenced by and inspired by. We kind of just took it together and threw it against the wall.
You are also set to release Don’t Trust Me What on 13th July. Tell us a bit about it…
N: It is sexy a little bit dangerous.
S: Its clever. Witty, but not too witty
I love the video for it, you boys look like fun, can we party some time soon please… how do you get the ideas for your videos?
S: Thank you! The premise for the video was that we were the last 2 men on earth and because of that we were male models and we were very desired men!
N: It is a bunch of fun, energetic different scenarios
Its our song of the week this week… how does that make you feel? Better than winning a BRIT award yes?
N: Yes absolutely! Much better than winning a Brit award!
S: What are the Brit awards? (laughs)
So to anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of listening to you yet, how would you describe the band in five words?
S: 2 hot to touch yeah!
And you’ve got a sexy album, Want, what on song should those naughty computer geeks download illegally from the album to make them go out and purchase the full album?
S: Starstruck
If you could cover another band’s song, what would it be?
S: I think I would like to cover spin doctors
N: which one?
S: Spin Doctors does the er. (sings) ‘And it you want to call me baby…just go ahead now’ (Nat joinig in with the singling)
It’s also the festival season at the minute, are you going to any of them?
N: Reading and Leeds and we are VERY excited about it
What three bands would you have to headline your dream festival?
N: Justin Timberlake
S: Justice
N: Arcade fire
Okay, now we want to ask you some random questions; On an airplane you are talking pleasantly to a person of average appearance. Unexpectedly, the person offers you $10, 000 (£5, 000) for one night of sex. Knowing there is no danger and that payment is certain, would you accept the offer?
N: I would rather just have sex with them for free on the aeroplane. No! I am not paying someone to have sex with me
S: I would do it! (laughs) That would be a weird scenario!
Name an experience which features an animal that you will never forget.
S: I had a hamster that got a disease and it ended up dying and we had to bury it is a shoe box
N: I have a guinea pig who we took on the road called ‘Mo’ my mum accidentally left him out in his cage all day and he dies of dehydration and my parents buried him and at some point during the night his grave was violated L
What one thing did you always want as a child but never get?
N; I always wanted a video game console and never got one
S: A rocket pack
We also ask everyone we interview to come up with a question for the next person we interview, and Shinedown want to know; “Do you fold or crumple? As in when in the bathroom do you fold or crumple the toilet tissue?”
N: fold
