Sweet Sweet Lies follow the release of their debut album, ‘The Hare, The Hound and The Tortoise’ with a new single on 5th March.
‘The Day I Change’ is a perfect taster for the band’s ‘caustic lyrics that excavate self-lacerating truths about men in love’, identified by Uncut as one of the band’s strongest suits in a four star album review.
With comparisons to the likes of Elvis Costello, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen coming their way in recent months and a swelling fanbase spreading from their Brighton base, Sweet Sweet Lies are becoming less a best kept secret with each day.
To accompany the album release and the single the band play three shows throughout February.
With the Independent On Sunday applauding ‘the sharpest and wittiest writing I have heard in years’ in a review of their Brighton show pre Christmas, the band come to these three rare live dates on a high.
Dates are as follows:
8th February London, The Sebright Arms Bethnal Green
16th February Glasgow, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut
24th February Brighton, Jive Monkey
Sweet Sweet Lies release ‘The Hare, The Hound and The Tortoise’ on February 20th, 2012.
