For serious indie/rock fans, Yellowire need no introduction. In fact, the release of their new single, ‘All Said & Done’ on July 23rd, couldn’t come soon enough as devoted indie pleasure-seekers hanker after a fresh slice of Yellowire since their last release in February of this year.
And ‘All Said & Done’ doesn’t disappoint. Raw, rasping vocals weave their magic around powerful sturdy drumbeats and rugged guitar riffs to deliver a sound that’s distinctively Yellowire.
The result is a style that alludes to the gentle, almost gospel-ish fervour of some early-70s Rolling Stones, fused with a more urgent sound where Scissor Sisters meet Supertramp, although the band personally reckon it’s more Lou Reed meets U2.
Yellowire were formed in 2010 by founding-member Ol Beach, known for his success with band, Wire Daises, who had number one tracks on iTunes in the UK and in Europe.
The band toured the world with the likes of Robbie Williams and Starsailor and released two albums through EMI.
With this experience tightly under his belt, Ol launched his latest creation, Yellowire, in 2010 and the band rapidly cemented secure foundations throughout the indie/rock scene as they demonstrated their unparalleled talents both live and in the studio.
The summer of 2011 saw Yellowire release their debut album, ‘Machines On Fire’, following which the title track boasted plays on Radio 2, Absolute Radio & BBC Radio London.
