The Robbie Boyd Band have achieved a lot in their first year; the track ‘Oh Alaska’ has been played on BBC Radio 2 (and has also just been selected as a finalist for the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville), the band have performed a live session for Jo Good’s Late Show on BBC London Radio, supported The Delays at the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and The Kooks at Harvest at Jimmy’s Festival, and amassed over 350,000 views on their official YouTube channel.
And now they are preparing for the release of their debut single ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ and EP ‘Autumn’s Flown’.
Front man Robbie’s enchanting songwriting and distinctive vocals, combined with the bands’ colourful arrangements and nostalgic harmonies, result in a contemporary Folk-Pop sound.
Debut single ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ is a perfect example of this, with its upbeat musicianship and irresistibly infectious chorus destined to have a lasting effect on you.
In 2011 the band won the ‘Rhythm of London Busking Underground’ Competition, and have this year been invited to play a central role in the launch of ‘The Big Busk 2012’.
On March 14th they will travel from London to Paris on the Eurostar, playing shows at both stations, as well as on the train during the journey and a venue in Paris that evening.
The band’s uplifting live performances have seen them quickly establish a large and loyal international fan base of more than 7,000 Facebook fans, with shows already played in France, Austria and Italy, and their most recent London appearances at The Bedford and The Bowery were both sell outs.
