She Was Always Cool' will be the third single to be released by The Brute Chorus. Recently recorded at a friend's studio in Luton between tour dates, the song has been a firm favourite amongst fans of the band who used the song to kick off nearly all of their 70 plus shows this year. It is an attention seeking, neck breaking call to the fray.
The band continue to blend a heady mix of influences; skiffle, rockabilly, kraut and preaching blues on a song written by Steel as he guitarlessly toured the east coast of Australia in a rented car, memorising the lyrics as he travelled with the band adding the music on his return to London. It tells the story of a traveller cut from the belly of a killer whale, finding a new life on a desert island with a final fatal twist in the tail.
A band of unique style and merit, The Brute Chorus will be looking to challenge conventions over the coming months, as they prepare to record their album in one live take at a special gig, early next year.
