Taken from Swift’s highly anticipated album Dressed Up for the Let Down out 5 March, the track is one of the album’s unadulterated pop gems. Swift has also just confirmed a rare and intimate solo show at Camden’s The Enterprise, which precedes an extensive March UK tour with his full band.Since wowing audiences at last year’s SXSW and emerging as the surprise hit of the festival, Swift has again been confirmed to play this year’s SXSW as one of the main draws. In 2006, he toured the UK with My Morning Jacket and Two Gallants, stealthily reaching out to an ever-growing audience of converts. Swift has also been invited to perform at Rough Trade Covent Garden twice, despite not yet having an album released locally! After struggling against the odds for the past few years, Richard Swift is finally getting the accolades he deserves with plays on national Radio 1 by Zane Lowe, single of the week in The Sun last November as well as being one of their ‘hot tips’ for 2007. Most significantly, Swift will make his UK TV debut on Channel 4’s Album Chart show, which will air on the 9th February. Richard Swift's lo-fi, sepiatone style harkens back to the tin pan alley age and ‘Kisses for the Misses’ continues with the theme, adding to it bittersweet humour, filled with forlorn lyrics such as ‘we’re all aloooone’ set to an upbeat ragtime piano. Swift’s sound is often compared to the fellow legendary entertainers from Paul McCartney and Van Dyke Parks to Rufus Wainright and Randy Newman, delving deep into the guts of the American singer-song writer tradition.
