Released May 7th 2007Plazdick Liddel, Plastik Lital, Crapstick Shittle, Plizzy, or quite plainly Plastic Little is a hip-hop group from Philadelphia that formed in the summer of 2001 right before the Bush Regime knocked down the Twin Towers and blamed it on Al Queda in order to severely restrict the civil liberties of US citizens and turn the Arab world up over on its head like a fucked up dreidel. Woah. This is the press release right? So yeah, Plastic Little started out in the summer of 2001 as a duo of Kurt Hunte and Jayson Scott Musson. Jon Folmar and super producer Michael “SQUID” Stern entered the Plastic Little roster in like, uhm, like in late 2002. With this line up Plastic Little has taken the DIY aesthetic and pretty much bumrushed the music scenes along the east coast of the US. Due in dual parts to the quality of the music Plastic Little makes coupled with a sense of humour in their music that has been lost in hip-hop in like forever, Plastic Little quickly surpassed many local Philly rap acts in notoriety because simply put, Plastic Little is some dope ass, funny ass shit. But it’s not just the humour that sells Plastic Little, there is a biting critique of society at large and an acerbic wit and intelligence that comes with their brand of party music. It’s like 3 parts Shake your Ass and 4 parts Fuck You. A good combo, right? So while it may be party, drugs, drinks and ladies and all around fun (remember fun?) within their music on one level, there is a larger stew brewing under the surface, or a greater picture just behind the curtain or whatever. Pick which ever metaphor you prefer, dawg. Their first UK release is the party banger 'Crambodia'. The track is pure heat. It features guest vocals from Ghostface Killah and Spank Rock. Also on the release is 'The Jump Off' which is bursting with energy, wit and vim. The last track' Foil' is just twisted. Especially when its rhymes start to veer towards the absurd. And to cap it off there are two remixes of 'Crambodia' from Hot Chip and Pink Skull. Plastic Little
