EP out 30 April 2007Brighton based, psychedelic, electro rockers My Federation release their debut EP Honey Bee on 30 April 2007, through Eye Industries. My Federation is an art-rock outfit fronted and driven by renowned producer Lee Muddy Baker. Infused with Muddys prodigious visual artist skills My Federation cook-up top songs and live performance enhanced by cutting edge and colourful imagery. The Honey Bee E.P comes replete with four choice cuts in the form of Honey Bee, an unleashing of dynamic glee hung with balls and bells which you may find stings you squarely between the eyes. Number ones used to sound like this. It All Becomes Clear is a sublime set-piece of glorious vocal and King Crimson-like funk while Tom Tom lands like an elastic-sided spaceship gate-crashing an Inca ceremony and Smoke is both calming and unsettling in equal measure yet manages to be simultaneously medieval and futuristic.Lee Muddy Baker has stated: We are happy to stop short of world domination, a tongue-in-cheek remark that belies My Federations across-the-board appeal. Live shows are usually chocka with artists, musicians and networkers, hanging out with electronica nerds, rockers and Muddys hardcore supporters. Perhaps its the goodwill they bring to the stage that creates this mix. Tellingly, Lee says, I love the band! We have a lot of fun. I just want people to leave our gigs sweaty and smiling. March 2007 saw My Federation take to the hills (and dales) of Somerset to mix tracks for their forthcoming, as yet untitled album at the Realworld Studios. The results speak for themselves; with songs like the symphonic Dont Wanna Die, with its marching beats and almost gospel vocals, this song ought to be melancholic but with the My Federation spin it is anything but. Wow is a 3-minute riff laden electro pop rock track with all the psychedelic soundscapes that are the My Fed trade mark, while Nothing To Pay is a soulful slice of foot stomping retro rock complete with anthemic chorus and cowbell.Listeners to Shaun Keavenys Radio 6 Breakfast show voted in their thousands recently for My Federation in Band Aid the stations homage to a new act on the cusp of superstardom - with Honey Bee winning the overall vote and gaining airplay on Friday 6th April which put a smile on the face of thousands in the process. Honey Bee has also been added to the evening play list at X-FM and is starting to receive heavy rotation on Kerrang Radio with the video being played on MTV2s 120 Minutes Show. My Federation can be caught in the act at the Great Escape Friday the 18th May along side the Spencer McGarry Season and Enid Blitz who both appeared at last years BBC Electric Proms. My Federation
