Following the sold-out 'Second Chance' single - a rapturous, airplay-slaying anthem, which famously wowed the floors (and vast viewing audiences) at 'Later with Jools Holland' and 'Late Show with David Letterman' - a new single 'Better To Be' will be released on 10th November to coincide with a new raft of UK shows.
As per the 'Second Chance' release, it'll again be a 7â which features an array of exclusive photos taken by Liam uniquely stuck to each copy of the single. There will also be a download format, both featuring an exclusive, previously unreleased, new recording.
Fresh from playing a string of UK Summer shows, including headline shows and festival appearances at O2 Wireless and Oxygen Festival, musical prodigy Liam Finn today announces further UK dates for winter 2008. The one-man band originally from New Zealand and now living a nomadic existence, is set to play a host of headline shows including Londonâs famous Scala - and will also be opening shows for The Black Keys around the UK.
With his trusted companion Eliza Jane Barnes, the pair, with the help of intricate foot pedal looping, autoharp and theremin will recreate layer by layer Finnâs lush arrangements as featured on his debut album âIâll Be Lightningâ, out now on Transgressive Records (home to Young Knives, Iron and Wine and Foals). The album received rave reviews when it was released in July.
This unique live show has received rave reviews in the US from recent tours with Eddie Vedder. Finn drops fuzzed out guitar riffs, bellows bass lines and thunders on his drum kit like a punk rock caveman. The New York Times described Finn as a âmultitasking madmanâ. Finn delivers a spectacular live show, not to be missed. The album âIâll Be Lightningâ is out now
