Grizzly Bear will release the second single, ‘A Simple Answer’, from their new album ‘Shields’ on 10th December through Warp Records.
'Shields' represents the band's most charged and concise collection of music to date and follows 2009's critical and commercial breakthrough, 'Veckatimest’.
The album entered the UK charts at #17, the band’s highest chart position yet, and at #7 in the US charts. ‘Shields’ garnered **** reviews from The Times, The Guardian, Mojo, The Fly, Q and Time Out, with Mojo calling Shields 'a heroically creative record', Q stating that 'Grizzly Bear are reaching for greatness' and Uncut proclaiming that 'there’s now no place this band can’t go'.
The band, having already headlined End of the Road festival, return to the UK for a tour this week including their biggest ever UK headline date at Brixton Academy. The tour begins tonight at Gateshead Sage Theatre.
The band also performed on Later With Jools Holland for the second time last night, and can be seen again on Friday at 11.50pm on BBC2 performing new single ‘A Simple Answer’.
