Ghostlight return with two sparkling tracks, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Somersaults’. The double A side single ‘Morning Lights’ / ‘Fingerprints’ will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14th 2011 and is accompanied by two stunning videos.
Perfectly capturing what is both special and frustrating about Valentine’s Day, the two songs explore the themes of unrequited love, longing and hope. Both complementing and contrasting, ‘Morning Lights’ and ‘Fingerprints’ both display Ghostlight’s flair for penning soaring tracks, bristling with honesty and emotion.
Already championed by the likes of BBC Radio 2, Ghostlight’s first break came in the form of the late Mark Linkous of the hugely influential Sparklehorse, who invited the band to support them on a UK tour after hearing their tracks on Myspace. Despite their undeniably polished sound, the band have self recorded and produced their album and will be releasing it through their own label Spirit Ditch Records. Completely in charge of their own music, the exhaustively creative Ghostlight design and engineer everything from the production of their music and design of their websites and artwork, right through to directing and editing their own videos.
The album ‘Somersaults’ was mixed by multi award-winning producer and mixer Cenzo Townshend (U2, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol).
‘Morning Lights’ / ‘Fingerprints’ will be available from all good online retailers on February 28th. The album ‘Somersaults’ will be released on March 7th.
