Released March 12th on Drowned In Sound Brett Anderson returns on March 12th with his first ever solo single ‘Love Is Dead’ on Drowned In Sound. Coinciding with three London live dates – which sold out within five minutes earlier this month – the single is taken from the keenly anticipated, self-titled solo LP, released March 26th.The man behind the voice that formed a cornerstone of Britpop in the 1990's, Anderson's solo effort opens a new chapter in his illustrious career. Written and co-produced by Brett with Fred Ball, the new single is a dynamic, passionate and personal song, which perfectly reflects the tone of the album. Available on CD1, CD2 and 7” vinyl, it boasts four striking and highly collectible B-sides. CD1 includes the track ‘Clowns’, CD2 features ‘We Can Be Anyone’ & ‘Mother Night’, while the 7” vinyl contains the stunning ‘Elegant’. All tracks will also be available for digital download."'Love Is Dead' is one of those rare songs that you manage to write every ten years that explains how you feel in exactly the right way,” says Brett. “The last time that happened was with 'Trash' ten years ago. It seems right that it should happen again now."The impressive new video was directed by Russell Thomas, whose previous credits include; Placebo, Coldplay and Sarah McLachlan.

Bristling with angular acoustics and supple strings, the album is an arsenal of songs for an unsettled world. Highlights include the emotive, soul-baring 'Song For My Father' the smouldering, melodic 'Scorpio Rising' and the defiantly catchy ‘One Lazy Morning’.
