Motion City Soundtrack Team up with Fountains of Waynes Adam Schlesinger, Girls Against Boys Eli Janney and Music Industry Legend Ric Ocasek for Even if it Kills Me, the Highly Anticipated Follow-Up to Commit This to MemoryCritically acclaimed pop-rockers Motion City Soundtrack entered the studio at the end of February to begin work on Even if it Kills Me, the follow-up to their sophomore album Commit This To Memory which has gone on to sell more than 275,000 copies worldwide since its mid-2005 release.
For their new record, which is scheduled for September 17h, 2007 release in UK through Epitaph, the band first entered Stratosphere Studios in New York to work with Fountains Of Waynes Adam Schlesinger and former Girls Against Boys member Eli Janney. They then moved to Electric Lady Studios in New York the first week of March to finish the album with former Cars frontman and renowned music industry legend Ric Ocasek, who has also helped hone such iconic records as The Blue Album by Weezer.
In addition to working with such amazing producers for the new album, the band enlisted such indie scene luminaries as Max Bemis of Say Anything, Rachel Minton of Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer, and Shawn Harris of The Matches for a few feature guest spots. The sessions in New York cap off a tremendous two-year-run for the band: According to Billboard magazine the band is currently the biggest selling rock act on Epitaph Records, and they were selected by Alternative Press to grace the cover of the highly coveted Most Anticipated issue (out December 2006).
Rolling Stone featured them as an Artist to Watch (November 2005). The band and the record were highly praised in the biggest European media. UKs Big Cheese called them:one of those bands you have to see before you die (August 2005). Kerrang! gave the review their highest score and called Commit This To Memory a fantastic record. On their headlining tour in Europe the band went selling out the big venues (Astoria London, Academy/Manchester, etc...) in UK and mainland Europe including two sold out London shows in one day.
