The Kooks are back onto the scene with Top Ten album Junk Of The Heart (reviewed here) and have started a season of touring, just finishing their dates in the UK, before heading to Europe and the US.
They’ve already made some serious waves internationally; the album has gone Top Ten in fifteen countries across the world and charted at No.14 in the US iTunes Chart – a personal best for the band.
The Kooks will depart for a massive 17-date North American tour in November, starting out in Philadelphia on the 15th.
With nearly 2 million Facebook fans to their name – outdoing many of their peers – the third LP has already gone Top Ten in the UK and the band will release ‘Junk Of The Heart (Happy)’, the second single from the critically acclaimed album on November 7th through Virgin.
Written by Luke Pritchard and produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air, Belle and Sebastian), next single ‘Junk Of The Heart (Happy)’ marries a beat-laden jangle-pop timbre with Luke’s sweetly romantic declaration: “I just want to make you happy.” And it most certainly does.
The Kooks head out this week on two sold-out tours, firstly across Europe and then out to America. Check out the European dates (and video for 'Junk of the Heart (Happy)') below.
