In Monday's Daily Rap Eminem is being sued, Nas' war of words with 50 Cent continues, Rock Steady Crew celebrate 31st Birthday and TI turns to Civil Rights Activist Andrew Young.
Eminem being sued
Detroit rapper/producer Eminem, is being sued after a man claims he was punched in the face by Em, born Marshall Mathers back in 2006.
Miad Jarbou is looking for $25,000 from the CEO of Shady records after he was hit by the rapper in the bathroom of a strip club on Eight Mile in Detroit.
Representatives for Eminem have yet to make comment on the suit filed last week.
Nas taking shots at 50
50 Cent has constantly encouraged lyrical warfare with a bevy of rappers. However his constant âdigsâ at fellow Queens rapper Nas may have just encouraged the rapper to take vocal shots at 50 Cent for the first time.
Nasâs album Untitled which will be released this month features a track called âQueens Gets Moneyâ which talks about another Queens rapper which many are speculating is aimed at 50 Cent.
50 Cent who along with fellow G Unit members released Terminate on Sight last week has never actually concerned himself with a reaction from Nas, but perhaps this time Nas has just decided to put 50 in his spot.
However Nas is notorious for winning over any lyrical competition including his highly publicized battle with jay Z in 2001.
Rock Steady Crew celebrate
The infamous Rock Steady Crew which has always embodied the true elements of Hip-Hop are celebrating their 31st birthday this year in a four day event in NYC.
The group which was founded in 1977 lost a member, Wayne âFrosty Freezeâ , Frost this year who they will be honoring at the bash which will feature panels, parties, battles and performances.
The Crew was founded in the Bronx by Jimmy D and Jo Jo and has members all over the world, in places such as Japan and Italy.
Performances at the event which will run from 24-27 July will include Marly Marl and Craig G, The Beatnuts and Sadat X (Brand Nubian).
New day for TI
After being embroiled in legal issues stemming from an October incident where the famed Atlanta rapper was arrested for purchasing a wide variety of gun paraphenalia, TI has turned to Civil Rights Activist Andrew Young to mentor him during this trying time.
Hoping to avoid any further negativity TI, born Christopher Harris has accompanied Mr. Young, the 76 year old activist to a unit which deals with the victims of gang crimes and attacks in NYC.
Harris has also been speaking with various groups aimed at the youth who might fall prey to the streets as part of his community service.
