In todayâ s daily rap Guccia Mane is arrested for driving whilst high and DMX pleads not guilty to identity theft. Also, Scott Storch loses his Miami mansion after failing to make his mortgage payments and Lil Wayne is not so little as he gets slapped with a lawsuit.
Gucci Mane arrested
Atlantic recording artist Gucci Mane was arrested in his native Atlanta early yesterday morning for driving while under the influence of marijuana.
When police inspected the So Icy rappers vehicle, the uncovered marijuana and was then charged with DUI.
It was only in 2005 that Gucci Mane was released from prison after charges were dropped linking him to the murder of Pookie Loc, a rapper from Decatur, GA.
DMX pleads not guilty
Rapper DMX pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges of identity theft in a Phoenix court.
Born earl Simmons, DMX will appear again in front of the court on August 12th to claim his innocence as to why he used another name and social security number when admitted to hospital in Arizona in April complaining of chest pains.
He is said to be hard at work on his new album.
Scott Storch to lose Miami mansion
Super producer Scott Storch who has worked on albums from an extensive list of artists including 50 cent, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilerra, Fat Joe, Remy Ma is so behind in mortgage payments on his Miami home the the bank to whom he owes the money is looking to foreclose on the property immediately.
No payments have been made for over a year and Storch who shot to fame as part of the legendary Roots crew is also behind on car payments and child support to the mothers of his two children.
He has yet to rectify these monetary issues and as of yesterday was still unable to be traced.
Lil Wayne sued
Hailed as the best rapper alive by Time magazine, it looks like Cash Money poster boy Lil Wayne might have got himself in some hot water.
The publishing company that owns the rights to the Rolling Stones song Play with Fire is suing Wayne for releasing an alternate version of the track which according to Abcko Music Inc was indecent and unauthorized.
The company are suing for copyright infringement and looking for unspecified damages.
The song was originally released on the 1965 album from the Rolling Stones, Out of Our Heads.
