In today's Daily Rap Kanye West is making headlines as he tries to pass a law to protect celebrities from the paparazzi and well as hitting out a critics who accuse him of using technology in his music to hide his vocal inadequacies and another person under fire is Lil Wayne as he finds it hard to take criticism from concert-goers.
Kanye Westâs paparazzi law
Kanye West has convinced himself that heâll be able to pass a new law which protects celebrities from the paparazzi, not because he keeps getting in trouble for assaulting them, but because he comes from a long line of civil rights activists.
The outspoken rapper has demanded legislation against photographers intruding on high-profile stars after a recent brush with a snapper led to his arrest in England earlier this month, but Kanye was released without charge.
Whatâs more his arrogance comes into platy was he has no doubt he'll triumph in outlawing snappers' efforts to take pictures without permission, because fighting for change is in his blood. He says, "I'm going to make a change and I think it's my responsibility. My mom got arrested for being in sit-ins at age six. My grandfather drove the first car in the marches leading out of Oklahoma. My father was an activist. So I think they're messing with the wrong celebrity right now."
Whether it does work or not, Kanye hasnât learnt from his arrest as he vows to continue to verbally attack photographers and fans on the hunt for a picture of the star - because they make him feel like a "museum animal".
He adds, "The thing about the paparazzi is the law hasn't caught up to the technology of the internet. So it's like all of these people going out and buying cameras trying to catch pictures of celebrities - not even professional photographers - and they're exploiting (us) and it's causing a by-any-means-necessary type of behaviour... where people are jumping fences and completely violating you.
"The problem I have with the paparazzi is if they're right in front of you and you're like, 'Can you please not take a picture of me?'... they just keep on taking it and talking to me like I'm stupid.
"If you're within arm's reach, I'm going to grab the camera. That just happens, and you don't expect that to happen with a celebrity because you think they're like a museum animal."
West's recent arrest in Newcastle, England, was the second such incident in as many months. The star was also arrested in September after a clash with a paparazzo in Los Angeles International Airport. He was charged with felony vandalism, but it was later dropped by the L.A. County District Attorney's office.
Lil Wayne Fires Back At Concert Critics
Lil Wayne has lashed out at critics who critisised his professionalism after the rapper postponed a New York concert date for a second time.
The rapper, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., was originally due to perform in Rochester on 26 October but the gig was pulled at the last minute because Lil Wayne was unhappy with the standard of the audio equipment.
The date was postponed until 6 December, when the star was billed to co-headline with T.I. - but now that show has been cancelled because it clashes with Wayne's rehearsal time in preparation for his upcoming U.S.-wide tour.
The Live Your Life hitmaker had also double-booked himself - he's due to appear on sketch show Saturday Night Live that night too. Lil Wayne has subsequently been savaged for the continuous delays - but now his publicist Myiah Hughes has hit back at reports of his tardiness, blaming the concert promoter for the initial cancellation.
The representative said; "He never wanted to let down his fans and has already made arrangements to reschedule the performance. The Rochester date will take place after his tour."
Kanye Westâs perfect voice?
Kanye West is shooting his mouth off again; this time at the critics who accuse him of using technology in his music to hide his vocal inadequacies.
Kanye is adamant that the Auto-Tune device he uses is helping him become a better singer. West sings with the help of the computer singing aid throughout his forthcoming album 808s and Heartbreak - and he loves the sound of his voice.
His hip-hop rival 50 Cent recently criticised West's reliance on the technology, and others have pointed out Auto-Tune is regularly used by singers with weak voices. But the Stronger hitmaker insists it actually makes his job harder.
He says, "I get a lot of backlash for using it (Auto-Tune) because it's a tool people use when they can't sing. What it does for me, if I sing off-key, it really points that out. It points out the bad notes. So what I have to do is sing more perfect."
