Usher and Tameka marry
After whipping the media up into a frenzy, Usher Raymond and the mother of his future child, Tameka Foster tied the knot over the weekend. The ceremony which ended up being a low key event was held in the office of Usher's lawyer in Atlanta and the singers Mother was in attendance.Last week the wedding was called off amidst excessive rumors stemming from a story in the National Enquirer about mother of three Foster and it was speculated that the wedding was cancelled because Usher's mother wouldn't be present at the ceremony.The couple are are expecting their first child later this year.J Dilla remembered
The legendary production genius James Yancey who put Detroit on the map for his contribution to Hip-Hop is being remembered through a DVD which will give his extensive fan base an insight to the last weeks of his life.Famed for his work with Slum Village and producing for artists such as Common, Busta Rhymes and Ghostface Killah, J Dilla died due to complications from Lupus in February of 2006.Created by long time friends of his who were with Dilla on his last tour, Frank Bush and Derrick "Dank" Harvey, the DVD titled Frank N Dank and J. Big Boi offers reward
One half of the outlandish duo Outkast, Big Boi has offered up a $50,000 reward for information pertaining to those who robbed the store of Sherlita Patton, the rappers wife.The boutique in Atlanta was hit twice by thieves and clothes including high end jeans which retail beyond $200 a pair were stolen. So far no-one has been able to provide information to help find the culprits. Andre Patton, Big Boi has plans to release a solo album in 2008
Nas puts on free concert for Virginia Tech
A free concert is being held at Virginia Tech for the students who were caught up in the atrocities of the April shooting which left 32 people dead. Rapper Nas is said to be joining the stage with artists such as the Dave Matthews band and singer John Mayer.There has been some outrage saying that Nas, born Nasir Jones has encouraged gun usage in his lyrics but a spokesman for the college has confirmed that there has been nothing but positive responses from the students and faculty of the college struck down by tragedy. Each member of Virgina Tech will be allowed one free ticket to the show which is scheduled to take place on September 6th.
