In today's low down on what's going on in the Urban Music world we have stories on what stopped T Pain from appearing in a video with Lil Kim, how TI spent his Friday night, who Ja Rule has sided with between 50 Cent and Rick Ross and how the chances of a Diplomat reunion are few and far between
T Pain Knocks out Teeth
Auto-tune spokesman T Pain was missing from the set of a Lil Kim video this weekend in Hollywood after he had an accident golfing.
The Tallahassee native was involved in an incident with an overturned gold cart which resulted in the singer loosing four teeth and suffering cuts and bruises to his face.
T Pain was expected on set to shoot the video for Download, where he assists Brooklyn femcee Lil Kim. In an interview Lil Kim explained that T Pain would eventually appear in the video, but just once his face had healed.
TI parties the night away
After being granted 30-60 days to turn himself in for one year and a day for gun charges TI spent Friday night in his home city celebrating the reprieve with some of today’s up and coming stars.
TI surprised fans at the CW Loft who had congregated to see Grand Hustle’s B.o.B and D.C based Wale perform along with Colin Munroe and Playboy Tre by appearing on stage with B.o.B to perform a couple of tracks including ‘On Top of the World.’
Also on hand to perform was Killer Mike and Big Kuntry, also artists from TI’s Grand Hustle label. Ti is scheduled to start his sentence now on May 19th.
Ja Rule sides with Rick Ross
It can’t really come as a surprise that Rick Ross has the undeniable support of Ja Rule as he battles it out with 50 Cent.
Ja Rule has also fallen victim to the wrath of 50 Cent and has openly admitted to wanting to feature on the Mafia Music Remix alongside the so called Boss of Miami as he faces off with his now nemesis.
50 Cent is, to many, the reason why Ja Rule has had limited success since their lyrical battle back in 2002. However Ja Rule wants his fans to get ready for an album this year at some point.
Cam says No to Diplomat Reunion
Rapper Cam’ron has announced that even though Jim Jones reached out and talked about the Diplomats reuniting for a new album there will be no album.
The Harlem based collective made up of Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zeekey have faced various issues over the last couple of years but particularly a break down in communication between the once so called ‘family.’
Cam’ron who literally disappeared for the last year and half from the music industry while he dealt with some personal issues is now gearing up to release his solo project Crime Pays, which is expected on shelves on May 5th through Asylum Records.
In a recent interview he told fans not to waste their time waiting on a reunion with the other members of the faction “Accept it people. The people don’t wanna seem to accept it. I don’t have time to do that, it’s not happening, I’m not doing it. …And hopefully the people will get it in their head. Cam is doing Cam. I’m not doing no Diplomat Immunity 3 album.
“I hope they’ll do it and I wish them luck. Stop dreaming. Stop hoping. Stop wishing. Stop imagining. I’m not doing it. Official. What’s today’s date? Thursday, March 26th, 2009: Cameron Giles, aka Spacely Sprockets aka Jaffe Joe aka Killa Cam aka KFC, whatever you wanna call me, I am not doing no Diplomat 3 album. That’s it.”
