MC M.I.A finally gave birth to a son last week it has been reported. The Paper Plans star who performed at last weeks 51st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles was actually having contractions while on the stage performing delivered a son on Thursday, her first child. Her fiancé Benjamin Brewer was with her at the birth.
Rapper Nas also announced this week that he and wife R&B singer Kelis who are expecting their first child are having a son. The man who enraged fans and his fellow MCs by saying Hip-Hop is Dead broke the news on Global Grind, the blogging site of Russell Simmons.
Chris Brown Finally Speaks
After a week of speculation, fake statements and major media coverage, R&B singer Chris Brown finally released a statement yesterday through his PR company.
Brown who is said to be spending time with his family in Virginia said “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.
Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds.”
Rihanna has yet to make a statement but her Father did say in a recent interview with People Magazine in regards to his daughters injuries stemming from the altercation between the two “There is some bruising. She will be alright. I think so. At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.”
Kid Cudi Handcuffed at All-Star Party
Wearing his Jordans might not have been the best thing for Kanye West affiliate Kid Cudi this weekend.
The up and coming star found himself in serious hot water when he turned up wearing Jordans, made by Nike for a performance at a Reebok party at All Star Weekend in Phoenix on Friday. Apparently the brand worn by the Ohio rapper was not welcomed and he was asked to remove them.
After complying with the organizers wishes the rapper allegedly insulted a female Reebok rep and a scuffle broke out between him and a male Reebok rep. Police were called to defuse the situation and handcuffed Cudi.
Reports indicated that police had actually tasered Cudi but those reports have yet to be confirmed by his representatives.
Kanye excels on Blueprint 3
Kanye West recently spoke on the highly anticipated album from his label boss Jay Z. The Chicago producer explained that the music he has produced for the Brooklyn rapper is some of the best he has ever made.
“I just did one beat the other day in Hawaii — probably one of the best hip-hop beats of all time, if I do say so myself. I just gotta do three more beats and we're done, 'cause he's got classics. He's got songs that are better than any of the things you've heard leaked," Kanye explained.
There were reports that Timbaland was to be solely producing the Blueprint 3 but those rumors were squashed when Kanye revealed he was producing the bulk of the album. Kanye who is also working on his next album has a new single called Ego coming out soon which sees him appear alongside Jay Z’s wife, Beyonce where he actually sings without the aid of Auto-tune.
