In today's Daily Rap we find the reasons behind Dr Dre's son's death, Souljah Boy is a victim of home attack, DMX's Arizona Ranch is in foreclosure and Death Row Records is up for auction again.
Dr. Dreâs Son dies of Overdose
The 20 year old son of super producer Dr. Dre, Andre Young Junior who was found unconscious in his bed by his mother in August of last year died of an overdose of heroin and morphine according to toxicology reports released on Friday.
Andre has been pronounced dead by medics who arrived at the home he shared with his mother in Los Angeles after they had failed to revive him.
He had been on a night out with friends and had returned home at about 5 am. It is unsure if any foul play is suspected at this time.
Souljah Boy Victim of Home Attack
Controversial rapper Soulja Boy was allegedly held up last week over the New Yearâs Holiday when a number of men stormed the rappers home in Atlanta, Georgia.
After a failed attempt at kidnapping a close friend of the Interscope Recording artist the assailants made off with money and jewelry belonging to Souljaboy.
Since the attack a YouTube video of two men claiming to be the people who held the rapper up has surfaced on the internet. Souljaboy who is nominated for a Grammy released his second official album in December which failed to be quite as popular as his platinum selling souljaboytellem.com.
DMX Arizona Ranch in Foreclosure
Life just continues to be a downward spiral for rapper DMX. Born Earl Simmons the former Ruff Ryder front man pleaded guilty to various charges last week and it was revealed later that week that his $600,000 ranch has been put on the market by the bank after the troubled rapper failed to make mortgage payments.
The property has also been ransacked by thieves who have been able to enter the property quite easily since it was raided by authorities in may of last year and was never secured appropriately.
Various possessions of the rapper including quad bikes have since been stolen from the property. DMX is expected to be sentenced to 90 days in prison after accepting into a plea deal.
Death Row up for Auction Again
After Global Music Group failed to close the deal which would have made them owners of Death Row records last year, the notorious Rap label which has played home to some of the most iconic artists ever is on the market yet again.
However it is allegedly being reported that a major problem in selling the label, which was once home to Tupac, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, is the founder, Suge Knight.
It has been mentioned that when any party becomes interested in purchasing Death Row they become fearful of Knight and the fact that he still thinks of the label and its catalogue as being his.
This may be a hindrance again when the label goes on the market again on January 15th of the year. Knight lost the label back in 2006 when he was declared bankrupt.
