Financial Woes for Fugee Front Man

Wyclef Jean has had a Miami property put into foreclosure after failing to meet mortgage repayments on the $2 million home.

The contractors working on the house which was being built in Miami have also yet to receive payment for according to court reports.

This is not the first mention of financial problems for Wyclef. Concerns were also voiced last week as to where money raised for his charities actually goes to on the impoverished island of Haiti, where Wyclef is originally from.

The performer also owes over $300,000 to a celebrity jeweler for articles he had received since 2002 which he has yet to pay for.

The house in Miami will be available to buy through auction on December 12th.

New Kid on the Block

Asher Roth, one of a new generation of MCs making their way into the spotlight has been given a release date for his debut album.

Roth from Pennsylvania was signed by Steve Rifkind’s label SRC, Rifkind is famed for working with acts such as Akon, Wu Tang Clan, will see his first official album hit shelves on March 17th 2009.

Roth has been compared to Eminem and many believe that the only similarity between the two MCs is the fact that they are both white.

Roth is flattered by the comparison yet he acknowledges that he has had a healthy upbringing which is obvious in his lyrics. Having featured on various magazine covers Roth has up to this point released only one mixtape which saw him work with Don Cannon and DJ Drama on The Greenhouse Effect.
